If you like a little glitter to your medallions, the gold relief is the medallion for you. The bear and fireweed, along with the rim edge, are layered with a thin 24k plate. Like the plain one ounce silver pieces, these medallions are individually serial numbered and are limited in edition. At the end of the year the gold relief medallions are counted in the total production of one ounce silver medallions.

The two ounce State Medallion offers GREAT detail. As is true with all Official Alaska State medallions the two ounce is limited to demand through 2019, and is presented in an Airtight holder. The heft of these two ounce medallions feels very nice! Generally, well under 100 two ounce medallions are struck each year. If you are looking for an Alaskan keepsake to put on display the two ounce is unbeatable!

The 2019 State Medallion will feature a black bear strolling across a stream. A good part of the bear's body is comprised of fireweed with the State flag, the big dipper and the north star, integrated through the fireweed.

!!!A finished medallion image is not available at this time. The above left image is the winning drawing after it is cast in plaster. From the plaster mold a rubber mold is made and finally an epoxy mold is cast. A reducing machine etches the design from the epoxy cast onto a steel die, working from the center out toward the edges. The text is then machined in before firing the die at 1,850 degrees F. for 24 hours. We will get a photo of a completed silver medallion posted as soon as possible.

The text is then machined in before firing the die at 1,850 degrees for 24 hours. We will get a photo of a completed silver medallion posted on our website as soon as possible.

The float plane, the moose and the rim edge will be highlighted with 24k gold plating.

If you like a little glitter to your medallions, the gold relief is the medallion for you. The eagle and its catch, along with the rim edge, are layered with a thin 24k plate. Like the plain one ounce silver pieces, these medallions are individually serial numbered and are limited in edition. At the end of the year the gold relief medallions are counted in the total production of one ounce silver medallions.

The one-ounce Official Alaska State Medallion Proof should be the first medallion in any Alaska collection. It is made of .999 fine silver mined in the State of Alaska and minted under State Statute: 44.09.017. Each medallion is rim stamped with an individual serial number and production is limited to demand through the year of issue. They come encased in an air tight holder with a velvet presentation box and information card. With each medallion ordered we add an information sheet about Eagles, Mount Susitna and the Alaska State Flag.

Again, the 2018 medallions are very early in the development stage. The image shown here is only the winning design drawing. The Two Ounce medallions are not yet in production. The two ounce State Medallion offers GREAT detail. As is true with all Official Alaska State medallions the two ounce is limited to demand through 2018, and is presented in an Airtight holder. The heft of these two ounce medallions feels very nice! Generally, well under 100 two ounce medallions are struck each year. If you are looking for an Alaskan keepsake to put on display the two ounce is unbeatable!

'''OUR MEDALLIONS ARE BLOCKS OF LOW SERIAL NUMBERS''' (some of the first off the press!). If you had an assigned serial number last year you will receive the same number(s) for the 2017 Susitna Eagle (providing demand is sufficient and you renew your number by Nov 1, 2016). All new orders will receive the lowest serial number available.
