Why collect Alaska Medallions?

The reasons for collecting Official Alaska State medallions are as diverse as the beauty of the 49th state where they are made. A few of the reasons we have heard:

"I am collecting to enjoy the artwork. They make a great display."
"Someday my grandchildren will inherit my collection."
"I wanted a keepsake of my trip to Alaska."
And our favorite, "I just LOVE silver!"

The Alaska Medallion, formerly a part of Poker Creek Gold, based on Creek Street in Ketchikan Alaska, takes pride in being one of the largest distributors of the Official Alaska Medallion Series. We started our business the same year The Alaska Mint (formerly The Anchorage Mint) began contracting from the State to strike the Official State Medallion. Because The Alaska Medallion sells so many medallions we are able to purchase large blocks of assigned, low serial numbered medallions from the mint each year.

Through the Alaska Medallion newsletter you can participate in an assigned serial numbering program and enjoy the benefits of early production, low serial numbered medallions. Once you sign up for the annual newsletter (it’s free!) you will have the opportunity to begin collecting the Alaska State Medallion through the mail, have an assigned (unique) serial number, and have the option of having that same serial number year after year. OR, you can order any single medallion as a one time gift - to yourself or someone else. And because The Alaska Medallion and Alaskamedallions.com do not charge a handling fee (only a low flat mailing rate on any order) we are happy to guarantee our prices!

The Alaska Medallion also stocks the Iditarod medallions as well as a wide range of back issue Official State Medallions with multiple piece packages at promotional prices. Go to our CONTACT US page to sign up for the newsletter or to make comments or ask questions. Thank you for visiting!
